Thad Chapman is a Founder of Artis Consulting. He focuses on growth opportunities for the company including business development and partner alliances.

Mr. Chapman spearheaded in 2005 the creation and launch of the Microsoft Business Intelligence Community (MSBIC), a North Texas-based non-profit organization. Formed as an alliance among charter members Artis Consulting, Microsoft and Southern Methodist University (SMU), the group is dedicated to advancing the principles of BI for the North Texas region from a technology, service, and educational perspective.

Mr. Chapman has a 14-year track record of building businesses from the ground up. He has experience in leading business development, marketing, and sales efforts for start-up ventures as well as the nation's largest internet professional services firm. His grassroots entrepreneurial style fueled the growth of two self-funded companies that were sold at a premium in less than seven years.

Mr. Chapman was a founding partner of Dallas-based Ensemble Corporation, which started in 1991 and grew into a premier systems consulting firm specializing in client-server technologies. Recognized as one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the US, Ensemble Corporation received the prestigious Inc. 500 award in 1997. That same year, Ensemble was named as the top consulting firm in the five-state region and was awarded Microsoft Solution Provider Partner of the Year. In 1998, USWeb Corporation purchased Ensemble Corporation.

Mr. Chapman also co-founded and served on the board of directors of Ensemble Studios, Inc., a leader in the computer game industry. The firm has produced a collection of award-winning games including Age of Empires, Age of Kings, and Age of Mythology, and the series has sold more than 19 million units worldwide. Microsoft Corporation purchased Ensemble Studios in May of 2001.

In late 2001, Mr. Chapman founded Ensemble Ventures, Inc., a high-tech business incubator, business accelerator firm. The company works with accomplished professionals in offering skills to advance their start-up venture to a stage of funding and market penetration. Ensemble Ventures has helped launch two companies to date, Artis Consulting L.P. and Timetag Inc., both of which Mr. Chapman serves on the board of directors.

Mr. Chapman holds a Master of Arts degree in International Management from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. He also completed the SMU Business Intelligence Graduate Certificate Program.
